The history in seven decades of an organization born with one goal: to free humanity of hunger.

Da vid Lu bin (1849-1919). A Californian of Polish origins, in 1905 he founded the International Institute of Agriculture (IIA) with its headquarters in Rome.
The IIA ceased operations in 1945. FAO took-over the mandate of international coordination in agriculture, and named its library after David Lubin.

The original problems are still with us. There are still millions of hungry people, there are unused resources, maladjustment's of distribution,
depressed rural populations. some of the obstacles loom even larger now that we see them closer. Int this book we have discuss them, illustrating them with examples from our work in the field. (from the forward)

Covers show some very minor edgewear and slightly bumped corners. Actually very nice for the years. Very informative. Very clean interior with many photographs of the times.

Please see and enlarge photos and email with any questions prior to purchase. Thanks
