Published by Grosset & Dunlap, New York, 1907 Unpaginated - First Edition. Decorations by E. Stetson Crawford Harrison Fisher, the “Historian of American Beauty,” was an American illustrator whose works regularly appeared on the cover of ‘Cosmopolitan’ Magazine in the early 1900s. This first edition ‘A Dream of Fair Women’ is filled with romantic full-color illustrations of the “Fisher Girl” type. The illustrations are inspired from the text of famous poems decorated in Art Nouveau style by E. Stetson Crawford. Poetic excerpts from Tennyson, Riley, and others. Showing cardstock pages. Tan, brown cloth binding with full color pastedown illustration on front cover. Gold stamping. Text clean, but showing some water staining to covers upper left edge. Cover's show some bumped corners and spine ends. Although the interior is intact it has separated from the spine. Note photos. Still a remarkable book with fabulous illustrations and poetry.
