Two guidebooks produced by the National Park Service that provides the history of the civil war battles in and around Vicksburg, Mississippi and Manassas, Virginia. Maps and a list of points of interest.

Vicksburg: A short overview of the siege of Vicksburg and great maps of the battlefield.

Manassas: The first shall be ever memorable as the opening engagement of that great conflict, while the second, fought approximately a year later, paved the way for Lee's first invasion of the North. In each instance Confederate arms won signal success and dangerously threatened the National Capital.

These publications are part of a series of handbooks describing the historical and archeological areas in the National Park System. Very good vintage condition with only slightly bumped corners. Spotless interior excepting a stamp of numbers and early price from old bookseller.
