Great resource for anyone interested in these first Minnesota soldiers. The First Minnesota Volunteer Regiment was the first body of troops raised by Minnesota for Civil War service, forming in 1861. It participated in significant battles, including the Battle of Gettysburg in July 1863, where it gained a reputation as a hard-fighting regiment. The regiment was formed in response to the call for volunteers, with the first muster occurring on April 29, 1861, and it quickly filled with volunteers from St. Paul and nearby towns. Very nice condition with very nice dust jacket. No writings. Blue cloth covers with gold gilt lettering on spine. Pages 173 to 184 have a very tiny bumped upper corner. Gift worthy. Please see photos, enlarge and email with any questions you may have. Thanks for looking. |
