Believed to be first edition, fourth printing. Psychology of Sex - A manual for Students. "This book by Havelock Ellis is a phenomenal classic in terms of the sheer depth and scope. The work is voluminous but gripping nonetheless. It is about the sexual behaviour of mankind right since infancy nay birth! It also looks into the reasons why men and women behave so, drawing analogies from the animal world appropriately and without excesses. The author has painstakingly collected case histories and used them to clearly illustrate the subject. A must read for psychologists, psychotherapists and anyone who is genuinely interested in understanding why people behave the way they do with particular reference to sexuality."

1937 Yearbook full of Quips, Philosophy, Poetry, Mutterings Famous Authors Scrap Memories ~ Rugby North Dakota Insurance Agency Advertising book.

Hardcover book that was meant to hold notes and dates for the calendar year 1937. Given out by the Rugby North Dakota Insurance Agency as promotion for their business. Rugby was founded in 1886 at a junction on the Great Northern Railway, where a branch line to Bottineau met the main line. The railroad promoters initially platted the town as Rugby Junction, getting the name Rugby from the town of Rugby in Warwickshire, England.

Many fun and interesting mentions by famous people and authors and nobody's. Use as a scrap book of sorts this is loaded to the brim. The very last few pages are empty excepting for a few hand written notes. One is "Intra Muros" Presented to Mrs. Edwin Hanson.

"Concerning Them that are asleep" Presented to 1. Mrs, Edwin Hanson 2. Mrs. Underdal 3. Mrs. Lana Olson 4. H. E. Enelstad 5. Harrison Amberson 6. Nettie Hunter 7. Christine Westergard 8. Mrs. Halbrook 9. Mrs. Manger......Hopefully someone's genealogy can be found by these names.

Pages are clean but toned and most are with pasted quotes.  Binding is tight. Green textured covers with gold gilted lettering. 7" by 4" by 1.5".

A long-lost, 300-year-old book of wisdom on how to live successfully yet responsibly in a society governed by self-interest -- as acute as Machiavelli yet as humanistic and scrupulously moral as Marcus Aurelius.

The Elements of Moral Science by Wayland, Francis, 1796-1865. Boston, Gould, Kendall, and Lincoln, 1837 4th Ed

Francis Wayland’s The Elements of Moral Science, first published in 1835, was one of the most widely used and influential American textbooks of the nineteenth century. Direct and simple in its presentation, the book was more a didactic manual than a philosophic discussion of ethical problems. But because of its success, and because it set the tone and form for so much educational writing that was to follow, this first important American textbook in moral philosophy is now of great value as a document in the history of education.

Condition Good, Very nice copy of this rare edition. Bumped corners and spine ends. Age spotting. Remnants of old wax stamp on endpapers, bled through to next two pages (Title page, See photos). Previous two owners names L. Mather and T. Mather.  (Mather's of Ohio?). Tight and intact.

Moral Compass: Stories for a Life's Journey by William J. Bennett ~ 1995 Simon & Schuster

ISBN 978-0-684-80313-5

This volume gathers hundreds of stories, poems and essays that defend or illustrate virtue and family values. It is arranged by seven life stages and challenges: the child at home and at school; the adult in need of perseverance, compassion, family fidelity, community, responsibility and faith in God. Selections, ranging in length from just a few lines to over 15 pages, come mostly from times when masculine virtue was considered the norm and men took center stage. Most are from European or Western culture, but a not inconsiderable number are drawn from African, Asian and Latin American traditions.

Excellent condition with only slightly bumped corners. A spot on bottom that may be remainder mark, a black spot. 6.25" by 4.75".
